DeepSec is an annual European conference on computer, network and application security, and the 2026 edition takes place in Vienna. It combines two days of hands-on trainings with two days of conference talks, so attendees can go deep on a topic and then hear what the wider research community is finding. The organisers describe it as non-product and non-vendor-biased: the aim is honest talks about what breaks, what can be fixed and what has been discovered, not sales pitches.
Talks are selected purely on quality, novelty, impact and relevance, which means newcomers regularly share the stage with established names. A dedicated scientific track connects information security with academic research, with workshops that introduce a topic and show the current state of research projects. A U21 initiative gives researchers under 21 a proper platform to present their work. The programme also runs alongside DeepINTEL, a sister event focused on security intelligence. The organisers stress neutral ground, mutual respect and zero tolerance for harassment.
The intended audience is broad: security officers and professionals, IT decision makers, policy makers, network, firewall and system administrators, hackers and software developers. It suits people who want technical depth and independent views, and who value meeting researchers from academia, government, industry and the hacking community in one place.
