GameDev Connect '26 is a two-day weekend event in Brno for people who make games or want to. It is run by the GameDev Area community and co-organised by the City of Brno and the South Moravian Region. It is built around one idea: putting working game developers, studios and newcomers in the same place so they can learn from each other and make real contacts.
Expect a mix of talks, hands-on play and conversation. Developers from established studios and independent teams share their experience on topics ranging from building a game and marketing it to game testing, board games, storytelling in cutscenes and getting hired. Studios have booths with game presentations and merchandise, while a showcase of independent Czech and Slovak teams lets visitors test games and give feedback directly to their makers. Czech schools present student and teacher projects, and short one-to-one consultations let visitors ask about design, art, CVs and portfolios. A single ticket also covers Maker Faire Brno 2026, which runs at the same time.
The organisers speak to current game developers and especially future ones. That makes it a good fit for students, school and university teams, hobbyists working on a first project, and anyone looking for an internship or a first job in the industry. The programme is mainly in Czech.
