Brno Bold Festival 2026

Brno Bold is the annual design conference built by designers for designers, and in 2026 it becomes a two-day festival. The motto is “Default is boring.” The idea is that work that stands out needs a little weirdness, and real mastery is bringing order to that chaos. The festival sits between raw, cutting-edge experimentation and top-level professional execution, across graphic design, typography, branding and visual communication. The organisers describe Brno as a city running on creative energy, specialty coffee and very good food.

What to expect

The first day mixes talks with hands-on making. One talk covers what it takes to join the Alliance Graphique Internationale, and another looks at why type carries a brand’s voice. There are two analogue poster workshops that put the laptop away in favour of paint, brush pens and cut paper. A poster exhibition showcases the newest wave of Polish club posters. The day ends with networking and an afterparty that is open to every ticket holder. The second day splits into two stages. The Design Stage has leading international studios sharing their process and craft. The Business Stage covers running a studio or freelance practice: sales for introverts, self-promotion, pricing and finances, avoiding burnout, leading small teams, and how AI is changing the profession. Coffee, food and drinks are included throughout.
