Getting in at the door
What happens when your ticket is scanned, and what the possible outcomes mean.
Bring the QR code from your ticket PDF. Staff at the entrance scan it with Lumind's check-in tool, on a phone or tablet.
A scan has four possible outcomes:
- Valid. You are in. The scanner also shows which tier you bought, so staff know whether you have general, VIP or any other level of access.
- Already scanned. This ticket has been used before, and the scanner shows when. Tickets are single-use — a screenshot forwarded to a friend will not get a second person in.
- Not for this event. The ticket is real but belongs to a different event, or it has not been paid for.
- Not found. The scanner does not recognise the code at all.
Making it go smoothly
- Have the PDF open before you reach the front of the queue. Venue wifi is not always reliable.
- Screen brightness up — scanners struggle with dim screens.
- Printed tickets work exactly the same.
- If you bought several tickets in one purchase, each person needs their own PDF. One code does not admit a group.
If something goes wrong at the door, the organizer's staff can see the full attendee list for the event, including who bought what — so a scan that fails is usually sortable on the spot.
