Creating an account

The three-step sign-up, what each step is for, and why you need to verify your email before signing in.

You can browse Lumind without an account. You need one to save events, buy tickets, or run events yourself.

Sign-up has three steps.

  1. Email and password. Your password needs at least 8 characters. Your account is created at this point, and a verification email is sent to the address you gave.
  2. Interests. Pick up to 10 topics. These shape the recommendations you see on the events page. You can change them later, and you can skip ahead if you would rather not choose now.
  3. Your name and city. The city is used as "where you are looking for events" — it is a hint for recommendations, not a restriction on what you can see.

Verifying your email

You cannot sign in until you open the verification link we email you. If you try, you will see "Please verify your email before signing in." The sign-in page has a Resend option if the email did not arrive — check your spam folder first.

Because there is no signed-in session until you verify, the interests and name from steps 2 and 3 are held in your browser and written to your profile the first time you successfully sign in. If you clear your browser data in between, just set them again from your account settings.

Signing up with Google

You can use Continue with Google instead. That skips the password and the verification email — you land straight in step 2 to pick interests, and your name is filled in from your Google profile.
