Door scanners and check-in
Inviting people to scan tickets at your event, and how the scanner behaves on the day.
Anyone helping on the door needs scanner access. You grant it per event, from the Workers tab of your dashboard.
Inviting
Enter one or more email addresses — commas, spaces or new lines all work — and send. Each person gets an emailed invitation link.
Invitations are scoped to a single event. Someone invited to scan your March conference cannot scan your June workshop unless you invite them to that too. Volunteers who help once do not get standing access to everything you run.
Invitations expire, and the Workers tab shows when each pending one runs out. You can revoke a pending invitation at any time, and remove someone who has already accepted.
What the person receives
They open the link and, if they do not have a Lumind account, create one. The invitation is tied to the exact address you sent it to — signing in as anyone else will not accept it. If they are signed in as someone else, the page tells them so and offers to switch accounts.
Once accepted, /hoster/scan becomes available to them. They do not get access to your dashboard, your revenue or your attendee list — only to scanning tickets for the events they were invited to.
On the day
Open /hoster/scan on a phone or tablet, pick the event from the dropdown, allow camera access, and scan. Each result — valid, already scanned, wrong event, unknown — is shown clearly, and the scanner re-arms itself for the next person automatically. Valid scans also show which tier the guest bought, so tiered access is visible at the door.
As the owner, you can scan your own events without inviting yourself.
